Yardbird Suite After Hours Hosted by The Jim Head Trio

Late-night jazz returns to Edmonton as Yardbird Suite presents the inaugural After Hours Series powered by the Edmonton Jazz Society Mentorship Committee. Echoing the legendary 1950s and '60s sessions that kept Strathcona swinging into the early morning hours, this new monthly series re-establishes a vital night-owl haven for our music community as we celebrate our 70th season. Hosted by local guitar virtuoso Jim Head and his Trio, the evening begins with a tight feature set before opening the stage to the community. It's a welcoming, old-school environment tailored specifically for Edmonton's vibrant jazz family-giving veteran icons and emerging talents a dedicated platform to trade ideas, collaborate, and pass the torch after their regular evening gigs wrap up. Whether you're bringing your horn to sit in or settling in as a patron to witness spontaneous late-night improvisation, After Hours is where the real musical conversations happen.
